Pivot Bio is a company that is working to develop bacteria for the food industry and agriculture. The bacteria is gene-edited and can produce nitrogen. It can become an alternative to traditional, nitrous oxide-releasing fertilizers. The tests and studies released by Pivot Bio showcased the bacteria’s efficiency. Plus, it has the potential to produce more bushels per acre of corn. This technology can reduce the number of oxide emissions produced by chemical fertilizers.

Kernza wants to develop a new strain of wheat that can absorb carbon dioxide from the soil. It can live up to two years which is longer than traditional wheat that lasts only a season.
