For this reason, surgeons perform ureter identification to locate the organs.

Allotrope’s innovative StimSite device sends a safe electrical current through the ureter that causes it to vibrate, making it more visible during surgery. As a result, surgeons can perform pelvic and uterine procedures more efficiently. In 2020, the FDA cleared the StimSite for surgical use, indicating that the device is safe for patients and works as described. In 2021, Allotrope completed a $4mil Series A financing round.
